Good morning,

Please find attached the agenda for the upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for Monday.

This will be a short meeting (maximum of 15 minutes) to amend the constitution and elect a Ladies’ Captain. Only the two points on this agenda can be discussed.

Following our recent AGM, I am writing to share the news of newly elected Club Chairperson, Club President and Club Secretary.

I would like to introduce our Club Chairperson, John Roche. Our new Club President, Peter Browning and Club Secretary, Kath Brady.

John, Peter & Kath bring a wealth of experience to their roles and have been with the club for many, many years and they will do a great job as we continue to grow the Club.

Please join me in welcoming & supporting John, Peter & Kath in their new roles within the club and committee.

The committee would like to formally notify you that the club AGM meeting will be held on Monday 17th November.

VENUE: The Thornton Arms, Burnley. Food is served from 7.30pm with a 7.45pm start.

The AGM is a great opportunity for all members to attend and we would like to encourage you to come along, it’s not just a formality but an opportunity to hear from your club and get involved. We have a number of committee positions that will be vacant. We still have a vacant position for Club Chair and we will looking for a new club Secretary and Treasurer.

If you are interested in these positions or would like more information, please contact any member of the current committee or current secretary/treasurer. We are also looking for nominations for a Club President. If there is someone you feel would suit this role, please contact Judith Carey by email with your nominations to judith.claytonharriers@gmail.com by Monday 27th October.

There will be a option to join the meeting on the online Zoom link for those unable to attend face to face.

For catering purposes, please ensure you confirm your attendance by Monday 3rd November. We hope to see you there.

Starting with this years race, entries will be taken on line electronically by www.SiEntries.co.uk .

I have also had to increase the entry fee to cover that cost and also the rising costs of every other expense involved.   The entry for this years will be £14.00.  The site is now open and accepting entries, it will close on the 09 November 2024.  The race is on the 16 November and if anyone misses this date they can always phone me and “discuss”.   (Kieran  07760 667842.)

This will be the 40^th race and as for the last few years, I intend to provide enough commemorative tee shirts so every runner gets one.

The cut-off at checkpoint 4 has been very generous towards runners and not really taken marshals into consideration. This year the cut-off at checkpoint 4 will be 1hour 45mins from the start (ie.12:15pm).  The race starts at 10:30am and any delays with the start will be added on to the cut-off time.
