Well done to all who turned up on a lovely sunny day; all the results are below.
A big thank you to the organisers, registration and marshalls who helped make things run smoothly on the day; it wouldn’t happen without you.

That’s it folks; it’s all over!
The final results table is below; well done to all who took part and congratulations to our medal winners;
Grace Root (u8), Jackson McKay (u10), Ella Dorrington Levy (u10), Briony Holt (u12), Alice Pier (u14), Kenan Eti (u14) and Beth Quinn (u16).
The u16 boys category finished in a dead heat with George Pier and Jordan McDonald on the same score, having beaten each other twice. We’ve decided to make it a joint first, with a medal for both (we’ll change the rules next year to make sure it doesn’t happen again!)
Presentation will take place at Thursday training, at the start of the Autumn term, exact date tbc.
This is the final race in our summer series and is again hosted by Calder Valley. It’s another classic on rough terrain and we’ve had a great turn out in the past. It’s a midweek evening race and all the details are on the CALDER VALLEY JUNIORS website
LATEST SUMMER SERIES RESULTS; ALL TO PLAY FOR IN THE U14 BOYS CATEGORY WITH ONLY ONE RACE LEFT!
DON’T FORGET; There’ll be no training on Tuesday 16th July
George and Alice Pier ran the St Anne’s Carnival 5k Road Race where 157 runners took part in very hot race conditions.
George finished 34th overall and 3rd U17 male in 20.05.
Alice finished 8th female overall and 1st U15 girl at 22.40. (first junior female).
Well done to both runners, some extremely impressive times on a very tough day.
Tuesday training moves to Worston for July (with the exception of Tuesday 16th July when there’ll be no training because of the summer series race the next day)
Meet at the Calf’s Head in Worston at 6:50 for 7:00pm.
We’ll aim to run two ability groups and we may move runners between different groups on a weekly basis according to illness/injury/recent activity etc. Don’t forget that this is an invitation only session; if you think you should be there, come and discuss it with us first.
The terrain around Worston is substantially different to Worsthorne. It’s almost all on the fell so bring fell shoes if you have them. Trail shoes are fine, DON’T turn up in ordinary trainers.
It’s fairly steep so we won’t cover as much distance and it’s very exposed up on Pendle where the weather can be completely different to that around Burnley; please bring your windproof tops.
See you there (hope I haven’t put you off!)
Andy.
Sixteen juniors made the trip over to Chiserley above Hebden Bridge for a well organised and hotly contested event.
All worked really hard for their results and we came away with some new course records and category wins. Grace Root was first u8 girl, Jackson McKay first u10 overall and Briony Holt first u12.
As the race was unexpectedly run as ‘age on the day’ Kenan Eti found himself promoted to u16 but coped extremely well and nearly beat George Pier to the finish.
Well done to everyone, a superb team effort and thanks to Gillian Wisbey and marshalls of Calder Valley for organising the event
Results are HERE. Lots of great pictures from Dave Woodhead
3 juniors took up an invitation from Horwich RMI to compete in their Jubilee Junior Street Race over a fast 1 mile course.
41 runners took part and we put in a great performance to finish with 2 juniors in the first 9 places.
First home for Clayton was Tom Bradley 6th boy followed by Alice Pier in 9th (2nd girl overall) with Beth Quinn in 16th place (6th girl overall).
Alice Pier took part in the annual Race for Life charity race over a 5k course around Towneley Park along with over 1,000 ladies and ran very well against a very determined lady runner to finish in 1st place with a time of 19:31 mins.
Congratulations to Briony Holt and Eleanor Root for their excellent performance in the Pendle Schools Athletics meeting; finishing first and second in the 800m track event
Who said we’re just a fell club?!
Brother and sister Curtis and Briony Holt took part in the tough Sedbergh uphill challenge which is part of the English Junior Fell Championship.
Briony finished 4th U12 girl with Curtis taking 16th place in the U14 boys. Well done to both of you.
