Saturday saw the latest installment of the British Fellrunning Championships.
The Peris Horseshoe Race is organised by Welsh Fellrunning club Eryri Harriers. The gruelling 17.5 mile category ‘AL’ race attracts the top runners and over 8000′ of ascent ensures they are pushed to their limits .
Jean Brown and Katy Thompson were flying the Clayton flag making the long journey down to Llanberis. Once again they did the club proud with impressive runs. Jean completed the course in 4:31:31 earning her 7th F40 (84th place overall). Katy was 6th F50 (153rd Overall).
Excellent stuff Ladies!
At the business end the overall race winner was Bingley Harriers Rob Jebb in a time of 3:12:29, narrowly edging out Borrowdales Morgan Donnelly – setting a new MV40 course record in the process. There were also course records for Mark Roberts (Borrowdale) MV50 and Gill Meyers (Wharfedale) FV50.
