Juniors; Tuesday Training in July; Worston

Tuesday training moves to Worston for July (with the exception of Tuesday 16th July when there’ll be no training because of the summer series race the next day)

Meet at the Calf’s Head in Worston at 6:50 for  7:00pm.

We’ll aim to run two ability groups and we may move runners between different groups on a weekly basis according to illness/injury/recent activity etc. Don’t forget that this is an invitation only session; if you think you should be there, come and discuss it with us first.

The terrain around Worston is substantially different to Worsthorne. It’s almost all on the fell so bring fell shoes if you have them. Trail shoes are fine, DON’T turn up in ordinary trainers.

It’s fairly steep so we won’t cover as much distance and it’s very exposed up on Pendle where the weather can be completely different to that around Burnley; please bring your windproof tops.

See you there (hope I haven’t put you off!)

Andy.

Sat 22nd June; Reservoir Bogs; Junior Summer Series Race 9

Sixteen juniors made the trip over to Chiserley above Hebden Bridge for a well organised and hotly contested event.
All worked really hard for their results and we came away with some new course records and category wins. Grace Root was first u8 girl, Jackson McKay first u10 overall and Briony Holt first u12.
As the race was unexpectedly run as ‘age on the day’ Kenan Eti found himself promoted to u16 but coped extremely well and nearly beat George Pier to the finish.

Well done to everyone, a superb team effort and thanks to Gillian Wisbey and marshalls of Calder Valley for organising the event

Results are HERE. Lots of great pictures from Dave Woodhead
