Todmorden – Rossendale – Todmorden

Another busy time for the juniors with three races in a week. Some great results, times and team awards too, the juniors are hot on the heels of the seniors.

Todmorden Park, 5k Winter Series, 4th December

George and Alice Pier took part in race 2 of the Todmorden Park 5k, Winter Series with both claiming the junior awards. George was 1st MU18 with Alice setting another pb of 21.26 to take the 1st FU18 prize. It was double joy for Alice helping senior ladies Gayle Whittaker and Rebecca Rawcliffe to the ladies team prize.

Red Rose XC League – Rossendale, 7th December

17 juniors made the short journey over to Marl Pits, Rossendale for the final race in the Red Rose XC League. Not to be disappointed the Marl Pits course once again greeted us on arrival with plenty of mud and water. I think the wetter and muddier it is the more some of the juniors like it. Even Marion enjoyed sledging down a muddy slope on her behind. Huge congratulations to Briony Holt for securing 3rd place overall in the series.

Todmorden Park 5k, Winter Series 11th December

Race 3 of the Todmorden Park 5k Winter Series saw George and Alice Pier competing. It was double delight for George who was again 1st MU18 and was also part of the winning men’s team which included Tom Brewster and Martin Brady. Alice was only 2 seconds off her pb and finished 3rd FU18.

Well done to ALL of you.
